5 Days/ 4 Nights Combined Tours

Overview

This 5-day combined tour is a perfect introduction to both Somaliland and Djibouti, linking two of the Horn of Africa's most extraordinary destinations into one seamless and deeply rewarding journey. Starting in Somaliland, the tour takes in the world-famous cave art of Laas Geel, the historic port city of Berbera, the remarkable Cheetah Rescue and Conservation Centre, and the vibrant capital of Hargeisa.

Flying across to Djibouti, the tour continues with the traditional Afar villages of Dikhil, an overnight stay at Lake Abbé camp beneath a sky full of stars, the shimmering salt flats of Lake Assal, and a final guided exploration of Djibouti City. Ideal for travellers who want to experience the very best of both countries in just five days.

Day by Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at the airport, we will welcome you and kick off the day with a visit to the region's largest livestock market. Here, you can observe the lively local trade, offering a fascinating glimpse into the area's economy and culture. We will depart for Laas Geel, home to some of the best-preserved rock art in Africa. Dating back over 10,000 years, the vibrant colors and intricate details of these cave paintings make this a true highlight of the trip.

Following our visit, we will continue to the coastal city of Berbera for a refreshing lunch and a relaxing swim at the beach. In the afternoon, a guided walk will reveal the historic old quarter, featuring a beautiful blend of Ottoman and British colonial architecture, much of which is still in use today. The evening will be yours to enjoy dinner and check into your hotel.

NB: We will have snorkeling and diving equipment available for guests who wish to dive and experience the rich marine life.
